This project consisted of the redevelopment/re-construction of a corner property which housed the La Grange Hotel which later became a catering hall. The renovation included the relocation and reconstruction of the old La Grange Building as well as the construction of the largest CVS/pharmacy on Long Island. The local Historic Landmark had fallen into disrepair. Our team met with the Town Community Board, Historic Board, and Zoning Board of adjustments to discuss the relocation, preservation and reconstruction of the beloved landmark as well as the construction of the new building. The project was phased as follows:
Phase 1 - Construction of the new ground floor of the La Grange building based on historic photos to support relocated existing second and third floors. Demolition of the La Grange ground floor and preparing and relocating the second and third floors of the same to the new location on the new ground floor.
Phase 2 - Construction of the new CVS/pharmacy building where the original La Grange Building was situated.
Phase 3 - Finishing both buildings.
The new ground floor of the La Grange Building was donated to the town as a museum where the Historic Preservation Society can hold their monthly meetings and exhibit some of the La Grange old artifacts.
